Port Jervis, New York – October 27, 2022 – Cornerstone Family Healthcare, a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, is pleased to announce the completion of a $6 million renovation of its Port Jervis community health center. The major renovation project began in 2020, with the goal to modernize and upgrade facilities, increase the number of services offered, improve patient comfort, and reflect the high regard that Cornerstone has for its patients.

Cornerstone Family Healthcare has been offering medical care and support services at 140 Hammond Street since 2017, at the site of the former Doctor’s Sunnyside Hospital. With the renovation project complete, Cornerstone is now able to offer a wide range of healthcare and support services at one convenient location, including: Family Medicine (Primary Care), Women’s Health-OB/GYN, Dental, Behavioral Health, Podiatry, Women, Infants & Children (WIC), and more.

“This is a remarkable transformation that will exceed our patients’ expectations,” said Linda Muller, President and CEO of Cornerstone Family Healthcare. “When Cornerstone assumed operations of this site, we promised our staff and the community that we would invest in Port Jervis and transform the health center into a modern, state-of-the-art facility that they could be proud of. Today, we fulfill that promise.”

To celebrate the completion of this project in Port Jervis, Cornerstone Family Healthcare hosted a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 27, 2022. More than 100 guests gathered to share their personal memories of this historic Port Jervis site, tour the transformed space, and extend their best wishes for the future.

Several elected officials and dignitaries, many of whom reminisced about their connection to the site as babies born there or as past employees, spoke at the Grand Reopening ceremony. Linda Muller led the program and was followed by New York State Senator, James Skoufis; Camille O’Brien representing New York State Senator, Mike Martucci; New York State Assemblyman, Karl Brabenac; Cornerstone Family Healthcare Board Member, Cheryl Ross; Port Jervis Mayor, Kelly Decker; Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation President & CEO, Mike Oates; Orange County Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Heather Bell; and Orange County Health Commissioner, Dr. Alicia Pointer.
