CORNWALL, NY (June 6, 2024) – Cornerstone Family Healthcare, a non-profit Federally Qualified Community Health, is pleased to announce Cheryl M. Ross, MS as its new chair of the Board of Directors.
Mrs. Ross, a well-regarded member of the Cornerstone Board of Directors since joining in 2018, has a deep commitment to community health and organizational development. She succeeds Wayne Day, who retired from the Board after two decades of service.
“I am deeply honored to accept the responsibilities of board chair,” says Mrs. Ross. “I look forward to assisting Cornerstone Family Healthcare in furthering its mission of providing high-quality health care services in an environment of caring, dignity and respect to all people in the communities we serve.”
A healthcare administrator and business strategist with more than 25 years of experience, Mrs. Ross has designed and executed breakthrough strategies that accelerated growth for hospitals, medical specialty groups and physician staffing firms. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Mount Saint Vincent where she uses her expertise to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Additionally, Cornerstone Family Healthcare recently appointed the following individuals to its Board of Directors:
Gopal Bhalla – After retiring from a 48-year engineering career in 2021, Mr. Bhalla has dedicated his time to making a difference in the community through volunteer work. Mr. Bhalla is an active member of the Friends of the Newburgh Free Library, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of reading and writing among young readers. Additionally, he has dedicated his time to the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program in Orange County, New York.
Randall V. Coffill, Esq. – A Graduate from Hope College, Mr. Coffill earned his degree in law from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. Mr. Coffill has over 35 years of experience in private practice representing clients throughout the tri-state region. He has worked in both small and mid-sized law firms in the Tri-State region, and now practices solo with his office in Port Jervis, New York.
Dareshanie D’Arpino – Since 2013, Dareshanie D’Arpino has been a vital part of the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh, New York where she currently serves as Vice President of Club Operations. With over 25 of experience in childcare and education, Mrs. D’Arpino understands the significant impact these organizations have on young lives, and her expertise is crucial in helping the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh fulfill its mission of creating a supportive environment for youth development. Her leadership goes beyond administrative responsibilities, as she actively cultivates community connections within the organization and in its surrounding areas.
Elizabeth Miller – Ms. Miller is the Project Director for September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, a non-profit 9/11 family member group committed to the pursuit of justice within a rule of law framework. Ms. Miller graduated with an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the CUNY Graduate Center in New York where her work focused on the complexities of women’s involvement in terrorism, and examination of human rights abuses in the post-9/11 world. She also earned her BA in History and Arabic Studies at Bloomsburg University. She is a trustee for the Port Jervis Free Library, a board member for Victory Hill Therapeutic Horsemanship, and served as a Councilperson for the City of Port Jervis, NY in 2022 and 2023.
